IBR Paper Development Workshop

International Business Review is the official journal of the European International Business Academy (EIBA) and, as a new initiative, the EIBA Board has scheduled an IBR Paper Development Workshop (IBR-PDW) as part of the pre-conference programme of the 40th EIBA Annual Conference (EIBA 2014) taking place in Uppsala, Sweden, December 11-13, 2014. The workshop is organized by Roger Strange (University of Sussex) in cooperation with  Pervez Ghauri, the Editor-in-Chief of IBR and two more experienced Faculty, and will take place on December 11, from 9:00 to 12:30.

The purpose of the IBR-PDW is to provide junior scholars with developmental feedback on their current research projects in international business studies. While we hope that many of these papers will be eventually submitted to IBR, the purpose of the PDW is broader: to improve the quality of IB research and bring new scholars into the IB field. We invite original papers from junior authors or junior faculty members who have not previously published in International Business Review.

Prospective participants in the IBR-PDW are invited to submit their paper manuscripts to Roger Strange (R.N.Strange@sussex.ac.uk) by September 1st 2014.

Participation will be limited to six papers; successful applicants will be notified by October 1st, and will need to confirm their participation in the Uppsala IBR-PDW by October 15th.  They will then be invited to submit a revised manuscript (the version to be discussed at the IBR-PDW) by November 15th.

For more information, see the complete Call for Papers IBR-PDW

NOTE: All participants must register for the EIBA 2014 Conference (www.eiba2014.org) before they confirm their attendance at the IBR-PDW.

JIBS Paper Development Workshop

The 2014 AIB-WE Chapter Journal of International Business Studies Paper Development Workshop (JIBS-PDW) will be held in Uppsala, Sweden, from 9:00 to 13:00 on Thursday, December 11, 2014, as part of the pre-conference program for the Academy of International Business, Western Europe (AIB-WE) Chapter annual meeting. The PDW is the most extensive of the various JIBS outreach activities conducted by the JIBS editorial team. The purpose of the PDW is to provide junior scholars with developmental feedback on their current research projects in international business studies. While we hope that many of these papers will be eventually submitted to JIBS, the purpose of the PDW is broader: to improve the quality of IB research and bring new scholars into the IB field. We invite original papers from junior authors or junior faculty members who have not previously published in JIBS.

Participation at the 2014 JIBS-PDW is limited to 12 papers. Participants will be invited based on the quality of their submitted work. Papers should be submitted to AIB-WE Chapter Chair, José Pla-Barber (jose.pla@uv.es). Please note that each applicant can make one submission only. The deadline for submissions is September 1, 2014 in your time zone.
